Driving from Elounda, with the beautiful island of Spinalonga on your right, you will reach this lovely old fisherman’s town. Plaka has apart from a pebble beach, a few little taverns and one or two apartments very little to offer; except perhaps the fact that it was the setting for the famous film “Who pays the Ferryman”. If you take the effort of walking uphill towards Vrouchas you will be awarded with one of the most beautiful views on Crete.
