Goudouras is the last village on the southern coast of Lassithi and Koufounisi Island (or Lefki) lies directly opposite. Koufounisi has an African landscape, with pure sandy beaches and beautiful little bays. There are many fascinating caves and the crystal blue sea is of a rare beauty. Goudouras itself is slowly but steadily developing into a tourist resort. It attracts more and more investors and the most beautiful apartments have appeared throughout the village. The realization of a new power station just outside the village, that is meant to supply the rest of Crete with electricity in the year 2006, will also give a significant boost to Goudouras. If you are looking for a relaxed holiday and want to be part of the traditional every day village life, then this is the place to be. A stay in Goudouras is the ideal basis for undertaking some interesting sightseeing tours in the area.
